Once I had created these various designs, I decided to go back a stage, and create developed silhouettes of these designs to push my ideas further and some more possible designs for my character to develop further.

Edit: after blogging this post, I asked some friends what they thought of my designs, whether they thought any looked similar to existing characters, and which ones they preferred. 

Amy: The female ones, I really like the bottom row of set 5, the horns and stuff are hella cool * u * but I also like the furry boot things from the set above so maybe a combination of the two things?

And the dudes, I like set 3 all of them, but mostly bottom right.

 Tim: I like set: 2 - 3rd, 3 - 4th, 6 - 4th, 7 - 4th
